Playing in their second true road match of the year, the Javelinas improved to a conference-best 12-2 (4-0 LSC) while hitting .298 as a team. The win marks the second time in program history that TAMUK has reached the 4-0 mark in conference play, and gives the 2025 team sole possession of the second-best start in program history, as its two losses through 14 matches are bested only by the Spring 2021 season, which completed its shortened regular season 13-0.

Junior middle blocker
Natalee Rush's 10 kills on 12 swings led all hitters in both kills and hitting percentage. The match marked the fifth time that Rush has posted at least 10 kills this season, it is also the fourth of those five matches to see her swing above .500. Rush entered the weekend ranking in the top five in all of Division II with a season attack percentage that now sits at .486.

The team was challenged early in the match, which served as the Lobos' home opener, as the home team battled back-and-forth with the Javelinas, tying up the first set as late as 12-12. TAMUK carried that momentum into the second set, where it opened up a 16-7 lead, including seven-straight Javelina points, five of which were kills, to put SRS in the rear-view mirror. The third set was more of the same, with the visitors rattling off a 8-1 run highlighted by four kills and an ace to give TAMUK an early an decisive lead.
