Kingsville - Texas A&M-Kingsville opens up its 2025 season at Nolan Ryan Field as it takes on Eastern New Mexico from Jan. 31 - Feb. 2.
Coming off a 23-27 season last year, the Javelinas have retooled and rebuilt their roster for this upcoming season. Perhaps the two biggest acquisitions were in the pitching rotation in
Ethan Campos and
Ulises Quiroga.
Campos, a junior from Houston, comes to Texas A&M-Kingsville by way of Tarleton State University. Campos appeared in three games for the Texans, and allowed just two earned runs in those three games. Before his time at Tarleton, Campos was a Second Team All-Conference pitcher at Wharton County Junior College, making 15 appearances with 10 starts.
Quiroga, a graduate student from Baytown, served as a starting pitcher for UTSA last season over the 2023 and 2024 season. Quiroga posted a 15-4 record across 23 starts with a combined 111 strikeouts across those two seasons. The experience Quiroga brings will be a major benefit, and he has faced some of the best teams in the country such as Texas A&M and in 2023.
The Javelinas have also brought in a familiar face to the coaching staff. Patrick Bielamowicz returns to Texas A&M-Kingsville after serving at UTSA, helping the Roadrunners post 70 wins and reach two conference championship tournaments (Conference USA 2023, American Conference 2024). Bielamowicz was a graduate assistant with the Javelinas in the 2018-19 seasons, which culminated in a NCAA DII College World Series appearance in 2018.
Times for this weekend's series are set for 3:00 on Friday, 2:00 on Saturday for a double-header and 1:00 on Sunday. Fans of the Javelinas can follow live coverage through live stats or at JavelinaBSB on Twitter.
