Kingsville
- Texas A&M-Kingsville returns home after two weeks to face Sul Ross State in conference play Saturday, 7:00 p.m.

The Javelinas (2-1, 1-0 Lone Star Conference) are coming off of a 20-14 victory over reigning LSC champion UT-Permian Basin in which they held the Falcons to just 46 yards rushing and a season-low in points.

Now, Texas A&M-Kingsville faces the newest member of the conference.

The Lobos (1-3, 0-2 LSC) are beginning their transition from Division III play to Division II, and rejoin the LSC since leaving it in 1975. This is only the third meeting between the Javelinas and Lobos in the 2000's, with the last matchup coming in 2022.

Kickoff for Saturday is set for 7:00 p.m. CT at Javelina Stadium. It will be aired on Flosports with updates provided at JavelinaFB on Twitter.

Quick Hitters:

- The Javelina defense has been one of the best in the entire nation. They lead all of Division II in redzone defense with opponents only scoring on 25 percent of their tries. This includes the fact that the Javelinas have not given up a field goal all year.

- In the LSC, the Javelinas currently boast the number one scoring defense, the number one rushing defense and are second in the conference in the time-of-possession battle.

- A large part of this success is due to senior DT Xavier Henderson, who had a career game against UTPB. He finished the game with six total tackles and a career-best three TFL's.

- Texas A&M-Kingsville has leaned into their physicality, and not just on defense. Kevaughnte McGowan, Ta'von Burrows, Juan Quezada, Rafael Recio and Myles Moye have dominated their opponents the past two weeks, paving the wave for two straight 100-yard rushing performances by Javelina RB's.

- The wide receivers are also shaping into form with the emergence of CJ Thompson. Thompson finished last week with three receptions for 42 yards and his first touchdown with the Javelinas.
