- The Javelina defense picked up right where it left off last season, snagging two interceptions thanks to Rayden Campbell and Seven Sanchez. Dating back to last season, it was the third straight game with multiple forced turnovers from the Javelina defense.

- Despite losing both Christian Anderson and CJ Odom to graduation, the Javelinas rushing attack is still a force. Santana Scott would lead the way with 64 rushing yards on 17 carries and Roger Hagan would go for 52 yards on 18 attempts. Hagan would also add a nine-yard reception for a touchdown.
- Receiver Jackson Allen had a huge performance for the Javelinas last week, setting a new career high in receptions with five and finished just behind his career high in receiving yards with 46.
