PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. - The Texas A&M-Kingsville women's golf team finished out the season on a strong note, bringing home fifth place - just three strokes out of third - at the PGA Works Collegiate Championship on Wednesday.

Heading into the final round tied for third, the Javelinas recorded a team score of 312 (+24) in the third round, finishing in fifth with a total score of 959 (+95). Just a single stroke ahead of the Hogs in fourth was North Carolina Central at 958 (+94) while third-place Delaware State finished with only three strokes less at 956 (+92).

Defending champions Texas A&M-Corpus Christi claimed their fourth-straight PGA Works title with a total score of 920 (+56) with Howard rounding out the top three in second place at 925 (+61) overall.

Zoe Dean finished the season with a bang, recording a new personal best over 18 holes with a stellar +1 round. The freshman sank three birdies on the day on holes 3, 6, and 16 as well as not recording a single hole over par on the back nine. The performance comes after Dean set another new personal best over 36 holes earlier in the season at the West Texas Invitational. Dean finishes the competition tied for 30th individually at +33 overall.

Finishing tied for 11th and coming in as the lowest-scoring Javelina over the three rounds was Kristin Grabow. Grabow finished the third round at +7 with a birdie on hole 12, carding an overall score of +18.

Just behind Grabow on the day were Cesilee Mokry and Alessia Rojas. The two both recorded third-round scores of +8 as Rojas drained two birdies on holes 4 and 15. Mokry finishes 19th individually at +25 overall while Rojas finished tied for 30th with Dean at +33.

Rounding out the day for the Javelinas was Victoria Patterson. Patterson finished the round at +15 for an overall score of +40 to finish in 41st individually.

With the fifth-place finish, the Javelinas close the 2023-24 season with their second-best result, their best coming with a second-place finish at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate on Sept. 11-12. Throughout the season, the Javelinas broke two program records, first setting a new best single-round team score at an NCAA event at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate with a score of 292 (+8). The Hogs also broke the program record for lowest overall team score over 54 holes at an NCAA event at the Golfweek D-II Invitational with a 915 (+63).
