MCALLEN, Texas - The Texas A&M-Kingsville women's golf team wrapped up the third and final round of competition at the Vaquero Invitational, hosted by UT Rio Grande Valley at the McAllen Country Club.
Matching their total from the first round of play, the Hogs finish round three with a score of 310 (+26) and an overall score of 938 (+86) to finish the competition in 11th-place. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi takes first place with a score of 853 (+1) with Abilene Christian and Bowling Green rounding out the top three at 862 (+10) and 868 (+16) respectively.
Cesilee Mokry bounced back to record a +4 on the scorecard for round three, coming in with an overall score of +19 to finish as the lowest scoring Javelina, tying for 47th-place. Mokry sank a team-high three birdies on the day on holes 7, 9, and 14.
Victoria Patterson was two strokes better than her second round, finishing at +8 on the round and +21 overall for 50th-place. Patterson recorded a birdie on hole 16.
Jamie Miller finished just behind Patterson at +22 overall for 51st, matching her second round score of +8 thanks to a birdie on hole 4.
Zoe Dean and
Alessia Rojas round out the scorecard for the Javelinas at +24 and +27 overall respectively, finishing tied for 53rd and tied for 56th. Rojas holed two birdies on the round on holes 4 and 10.
Next up for the Javelinas, they make the long trip to Pebble Beach, CA to compete in the Poppy Hills Invitational, hosted by Dallas Baptist at the Poppy Hills Golf Club from March 18-19.
