PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. - The Texas A&M-Kingsville women's golf team competed in the Poppy Hills Patriot Invitational, hosted by Dallas Baptist at the Poppy Hills Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday.
Shooting 978 (+126) over the three rounds of competition, the Javelinas finished the tournament in 11th-place. Host school DBU finished in first place at 874 (+22), 26 strokes ahead of second. Cal State San Marcos and Cal State Monterey Bay rounded out the podium with scores of 900 (+48) and 904 (+52) respectively.
Victoria Patterson was the leading player for the Hogs over the three rounds, finishing tied for 29th overall at +21. Patterson shot +7 in round one, +9 in round two, and +5 in round three, finishing her competition with a birdie on hole 18 in the final round.
Cesilee Mokry was the next best scorecard for the team, coming in tied for 56th-place at a score of +33. Mokry scored +8, +14, and +11 in the three rounds respectively, finding two birdies in the first round on holes 3 and 10.
Alessia Rojas and
Kristin Grabow finished nearly neck-and-neck. Rojas recorded an overall score of +42 to tie for 65th with Grabow right behind at +43 to finish 68th-place. Rojas holed two birdies on day two - on holes 3 and 10 - and Grabow grabbed one on hole 11.
Jamie Miller rounded out the scorecard for the Javelinas, finishing 69th-place at +45. Miller recorded a phenomenal third round, scoring at +6 with birdies on holes 3 and 15 as well as the team's only eagle of the competition on the par five hole 9.

The squad is back in action for their final tournament before the Lone Star Conference Championship as they take on the West Texas Desert Invitational. The competition kicks off on Monday, April 1 in Tuscon, AZ at the WinStar Golf Course.
