Javelinas wrap up first day of Lone Star Conference championship

TAMUK set for the third round of stroke play tomorrow

THACKERVILLE, Okla. - Texas A&M-Kingsville's women's golf team finished the first day of the Lone Star Conference Championship at the WinStar Golf Club. 

The Javelinas finished the day in fourteenth place after shooting +51 across the first two rounds of the tournament with freshmen Victoria Patterson and Cesilee Mokry leading the way with tied in 43rd position after shooting +10. 

Patterson opened the tournament with the team's best round of the day carding a 75 in the first round.  

Mokry, Kristin Grabow, and Katelyn Habib all shot a 78 in the second round for the Hogs' best rounds in the final round of the day with Grabow and Habib finishing tied for 55th and 61st respectively. 

Sophomore Alessia Rojas rounded out the Javelinas finished tied for 66th after shooting +9 across the first two rounds of the conference championship. 

The Javelinas will resume play tomorrow for round three of the championship and final round of stroke play with the top-four teams advancing to medal-match play semifinals.
