PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. - Texas A&M-Kingsville's women's golf team finished day one of the Patriot Invitational hosted by No. 2 Dallas Baptist at Poppy Hills Golf Club shooting a 665 as a team in 15th place.
Cesilee Mokry was the highest finisher for the Javelinas, tied in 46th shooting a total count of 158. She opened the tournament by carding an opening round 78 including three birdies on holes 3, 11, and 17 which played as the sixth hardest hole on the course.
The LaVernia, Texas native followed up the first-round performance with an 80 in the second round.
Fellow freshman Victoria Patterson finished the day in 67th place shooting a total 165 across the opening two rounds.
Patterson shot an opening round 84 with one birdie coming on number 18, the San Antonio native improved on this with a second round, 81, paring 11 of the 18 holes.
Kristin Grabow, Katelyn Habib, and Alessia Rojas rounded out the day for TAMUK in 73rd, T74th, and 78th positions shooting totals of 171, 172, and 181 respectively.
The Javelinas will finish the tournament in round three tomorrow in Pebble Beach at the Par 71, 5,930 yard course.
