KINGSVILLE, Texas- The Texas A&M-Kingsville baseball team is headed to Canyon, Texas, for a four-game Lone Star Conference series against No. 4 West Texas A&M, which begins on Friday at 2 p.m. inside Wilder Park.Â

Following the series opener, the teams will meet again Saturday, with a 1 p.m. doubleheader ahead of the finale Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Javelinas (0-4, 0-4 LSC) will take on the No. 4 Buffaloes (4-0, 4-0 LSC), who are coming off a sweep over Texas A&M-International in which they outscored their opponents 40-10.Â

The Buffs started the season hot with 12 hitters over the Mendoza Line, including Kason Haggard, whose OPS sits at 2.167, going 3-for-4 with three doubles. Five team members went deep against the Dustdevils, while their pitching staff kept a 2.70 ERA over the weekend.Â

Reese Miller struck eight out in five innings, allowing just one hit, while Isaac Keehn fanned seven scattering four hits over five frames. Completing the rotation, Nick Marshall struck out four with one hit, while Douglas Rojas tossed 3.2 innings with four Ks and three hits.Â

The Javelinas, meanwhile, are still searching for their first victory of the year after falling to UAFS in the first four contests of the season.Â

Sophomore Ramsey Amador had a strong start at the plate, going 6-for-12, while juniors Nick Wolff and Shelby Becker each logged longballs in the opening series. Wolff batted in a trio of runs, and Becker drove in two as the team saw 15 runs cross the plate over the weekend.Â

On the mound, junior Kobe Jaramillo and sophomore Robbie Spencer each fanned five, with Jaramillo scattering three hits over four frames and Spencer four across five innings of work.Â

Senior Matt Vasquez, junior Hunter Kloesel, and sophomore Karson Shepard all allowed zero earned runs, as Vasquez tossed two frames in two appearances with three strikeouts. Kloesel and Shephard each maintained a sub-one WHIP as Shephard saw his first action as a member of the squad.

Additionally, freshman Daniel Trevino struck out four in his Blue and Gold debut, while sophomore Carter Poulson sat down three in his first outing for TAMUK.Â
