KINGSVILLE, Texas — The Texas A&M-Kingsville women's basketball team is set for a pair of games against Texas A&M-International, first hosting the Dustdevils on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. on Faculty Appreciation Night in the Steinke Physical Education Center before taking a trip to Laredo, Texas on Saturday at 1 p.m. inside the TAMIU Kinesiology and Convocation Building.

The Javelinas (16-10, 13-7 LSC) will close out the regular season this week after picking up a pair of victories against Midwestern State and Cameron last time out.

Freshman Shelby Ray's stellar defensive season continues, as she's logged 27 blocks across 24 appearances, the ninth most in the LSC.

The Dustdevils (13-15, 6-14 LSC) split last week, first falling to CU 79-71, before besting MSU 88-85 in an overtime matchup that saw the squad score seven points in 45 seconds to pick up the win.

TAMIU has been one of the league's best passing teams, boasting the highest assist total on the year with 15.7 APG. They've also been incredibly efficient, shooting 42.6% from the field and scoring 68.7 PPG, the third-most in the LSC. Defensively, the Dustdevils swipe 10.6 steals per contest and force 20.61 turnovers per game for the second-best total in the conference.

Raiana Brown is the league's top scorer with 19.5 PPG, slotting her 17 nationally. She makes 60.6% of the shots she takes and ranks fifth in field goals made, with 212 across the season. Emily Swiercz also averages double-digit scoring figures at 10.1 PPG, while Brown ties with Clara Fernandez for the team lead in rebounds with 5.7 RPG.

Nobody on the squad has blocked more shots than Fernandez, who sent back 13 thus far, and Swiercz paces the team in steals swiping 49 on the year.
