Javelinas maintain three-spot in latest NCAA regional rankings

The NCAA released the third edition of its South Central Regional rankings, with the Javelinas ranking third

INDIANAPOLIS (NCAA)-For consecutive weeks, the NCAA has slotted the Texas A&M-Kingsville baseball team third in its weekly South Central Regional Rankings, which the organization released on Wednesday.

The Javelinas remain at No. 3 after going 1-2 in a best-of-three opening-round series in the Lone Star Conference tournament against the UT Tyler Patriots. Representing the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, Colorado Mesa has leapfrogged Angelo State to claim the top spot in the region, while the Rams hold second.

West Texas A&M sits just behind the Javelinas in fourth, while UTT has jumped from seventh into fifth. Rounding out the group, St. Edwards claims sixth, while Lubbock Christian holds seventh, and MSU-Denver sits eighth.

The Javelinas as well as all teams under consideration, await their postseason fate with the NCAA Selection Show slated for Sunday, May 15, at 9 a.m. CT.
