Golf headed to Philadelphia for PGA Works Collegiate Championship

The event spans three days at a pair of golf courses hosted by the Union League of Philadelphia

KINGSVILLE, Texas — The Texas A&M-Kingsville women's golf team is headed to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for three days of competition at the PGA Works Collegiate Championships, an event that is hosted by The Union League of Pennsylvania, beginning Monday.

Two courses have been donated for 54-holes of stroke play, including rounds one and three at The Union League Golf Club of Torresdale, which measures 5,715 yards with a par of 70. In contrast, round two occurs at Championship-Union League Liberty Hill, a par 72 course that spans 6,159.

The Javelinas competed in last year's iteration of the tournament and performed well, earning their highest finish of 2021, taking third. Junior Katelyn Habib (Corpus Christi, Texas) represents the lone returner in the competition as she last placed 27th at 40-over par.

This time around, Habib will be joined by graduate student Roxane Nataf (Paris, France), who carries momentum after leading the team at the 2022 Lone Star Conference Championships. She had a solid final day in Glen Rose, Texas, where she finished even with par, courtesy of four birdies.

Meanwhile, the freshman tandem of Kristin Grabow (San Antonio, Texas) and Alessia Rojas (Seabrook, Texas) each made personal history at the league's tournament, with Grabow tying her previous collegiate low score after shooting a 78 in round one, while Rojas broke hers with a 78 in round two.

Additionally, junior Brianna Silerio (McAllen, Texas) will make the trip; she last finished in a tie for 70th, carding 250 across three rounds at the Squaw Valley Golf Course.

The Javelinas will compete in the women's division which features nine other competitors and eight NCAA Division I programs.
