JASON GONZALES POSTGAME
"We got a shutout, seven innings from Kolby (Lunsford) and two from
Hunter Kloesel," said coach
Jason Gonzales. "The hitters scored just about every inning but the last two, and when those guys are doing that, it makes me look like a pretty good coach. I couldn't have been more proud of how Kolby competed. It always starts on the mound..,for him to throw a shutout you can't say enough about that, that's what a Friday night guy does, and he sets the tone for hopefully the rest of the weekend."
The Javelinas (11-4, 9-4 LSC) scoring eight on 12 hits, while the Eagles (6-11, 6-11 LSC) were unable to cross the plate at Nolan Ryan Field, after seven dominant innings by Lunsford, featuring seven strikeouts and a single walk.
Additionally, Lunsford scattered six hits, before Kloesel came in and kept OC off the base paths in the final two innings, securing the Blue and Gold victory.
