• Lubbock Christian took two of three from St. Edward's to start the 2020 season, but dropped the following series to St. Mary's as the Rattlers took two out of three at Hays Field in Lubbock, Texas
• The starting lineup features AJ Perez leading the team with a .333 average after compiling seven hits, four runs and one RBI in 21 at-bats
• He is joined by Luis Navarro with a .316 average behind six hits, three doubles, four runs and four RBI in 19 trips to the plate
• Larry Leitha and George Mendazona are the other two Chaps with at least six hits as they own a .286 and .280 batting average, respectively
• Leitha has six hits one triple, five runs and two RBI in 21 at-bats, while Mendazona has seven hits, one double, one home run, five runs and three RBI in 25 trips to the batter's box
• LCU ran out the same three pitchers in each series for games one, two and three, with Ty Stephenson getting the bill in the season opener
• Stephenson owns a 4.50 ERA in two starts with 11 hits, five earned runs and seven strikeouts in 10 innings pitched

Jason Gonzales is in his 12th season at the helm of the program
• The Javelinas have reached the Lone Star Conference playoffs for 10 straight seasons following the 2019 campaign and claimed the LSC Tournament Championship in the 2013 season
• TAMUK has reached the NCAA South Central Regional in five of the 12 seasons under Gonzalez, having reached the finals twice and clinching the regional championship 2018
• The 2018 season was the first NCAA Division II College World Series appearance for the program and claimed its first win in the final site bracket with a 9-0 decision over Mercyhurst on May 29
• Gonzales is the program's all-time winningest coach after he defeated UT Permian Basin on April 23, 2017, for his 276th career win
• His 300th win came in 2018, 16-2 over Angelo State on April 6
• Gonzales is a two-time LSC Coach of the Year in 2014 and 2015, and one-time ABCA Regional Coach of the Year in 2018
LSC OUTLOOKÂ Â Â
• The LSC merged with the Heartland Conference this year as 14 teams will now compete in a 50-game, round-robin schedule
• The Javelinas were picked to finish fourth in the preseason poll with one first-place vote
• Angelo State was selected as the preseason favorites in the conference, followed by West Texas A&M at the second spot and Lubbock Christian rounding out the top three
RETURNERSÂ Â Â
• The Javelinas feature 18 returning letterwinners from the 2019 squad, including six starters, along with seven returning pitchers

Seth Spinn is back in the lineup as the lone All-South Central Region selection as he was named to the D2CCA team following last year
• Spinn, along with
Giancarlo Servin, were both First Team All-LSC selections for the Javelinas in 2019

• 16 newcomers grace the roster, 12 of which are coming from the junior college ranks
11 of the newcomers will take their place on the mound, either in the starting lineup or coming out of the bullpen
SETH SPINNÂ Â Â
• Spinn finished the 2019 season as the team's leading hitter with a .378 average on 65 hits in 172 at-bats to go with 10 doubles, three triples and four home runs for a .541 slugging percentage
• The transfer from Weatherford added 49 runs scored and 29 RBI along with 34 walks for a .481 on-base percentage
• Spinn stole a team-high 26 bases in 27 attempts
GIANCARLO SERVINÂ Â Â
• Servin was second on the team with a .367 average behind 69 hits in 188 at-bats and added nine doubles, one triple, one home run and a team-high 43 RBI to his total
• Servin drew 20 walks for a .444 OBP and scored 46 runs as well while starting all 50 games
• He also added 18 stolen bases in 21 attempts
AUSTIN DE LEONÂ Â Â
• De Leon hit .286 in 2019 with 40 hits in 140 at-bats along with eight doubles, two triples and four home runs
• He scored 45 times throughout the year and drove in another 24 runs and added 10 stolen bases in 14 attempts
• De Leon drew 35 walks, most on the team, for a .431 OBP
KOHL ULLMANÂ Â Â
• Ullman hit .236 in his junior season, one year after hitting .328 as a sophomore
• Ullman compiled 30 hits in 127 at-bats, four doubles and hit the first home run of 2019 after hitting the last home run of 2018 at the USA National Training Complex at the Division II Championships
• Ullman added 11 stolen bases and 23 walks for a .367 OBP in 2019
TYLER FLORESÂ Â Â
• Flores is the lone returning starter on the hill for the Javelinas as he was named the 2018 LSC Freshman of the Year and went 2-2 with 10 starts and five relief appearances in 2019
• Flores struck out 43 in 41.1 innings pitched while opponents hit .325 against him and scored 33 runs, 25 allowed, for a 5.44 ERA
• Flores went 7-1 in 2018 as a true freshman with 79 strikeouts in 65 innings pitched for a 2.91 ERA
• Flores was credited with the program's first win in the NCAA Division II Championships against Mercyhurst on May 29
