• The Javelinas start the 2019-20 season on the road for the LSC/RMAC Crossover against Black Hills State and Chadron State
• Tipoff against the Yellowjackets is set for 6 p.m. in Spearfish, S.D., on Friday, November 8, while the contest against the Eagles will be on Saturday, November 9, with tipoff at 3 p.m.
• TAMUK fell to BHSU at the beginning of the 2018-19 season at 48-40

Cloe Lane led the Javelinas with nine points and 11 rebounds

Brynae Thompson posted eight points and three boards before fouling out
• TAMUK rebounded with a 61-37 win over CSC for the second game of the season
• Thompson posted 13 points to led all scorers

Danielle Meador added 10 points and six rebounds, while
Victoria Salinas dropped 11 points and six rebounds off the bench
• The Javelinas went one-and-done in the LSC Championships last year with a 71-54 loss to West Texas A&M
• Black Hills State reached the RMAC Championships but eventually fell to Colorado Mesa at 56-49
• The Yellowjackets started 2018-19 ranked No. 22 and finished with a 16-11 overall record and a 12-10 mark in RMAC play
• Chadron State did not reach the postseason and ended with a 4-24 overall record and a 3-19 RMAC record
2018-19 In Review  Â
• The Javelinas split the opening weekend of play with BHSU and CSC
• A loss to St. Mary's followed on November 13, but TAMUK bounced back with an 80-69 win over Texas A&M International
• The Javelinas suffered four straight losses after that but found the win column with a 90-67 win over TAMIU on December 17
• TAMUK began the new year with another loss to St. Mary's but went 2-0 on the following weekend that featured an 86-84 upset win over No. 2 West Texas A&M
• The Blue and Gold took three of their next four with wins over Western New Mexico, UT Permian Basin, and Midwestern State
• Seven straight losses followed up after the Javelinas' brief run
• TAMUK closed the year 1-3 with the lone win coming against UTPB
• WT enacted their revenge and sent the Blue and Gold packing in the postseason with a 71-54 decision
• The program experience some turnover at the top as
Michael Madrid was named the 14th head coach on May 29, 2019, with
Kayla Weaver named assistant coach in June
Welcome Back  Â
• The Javelinas return seven letterwinners from 2018-19, including three starters
•
Brynae Thompson,
Bri-Anna Soliz, and
Danielle Meador are back from the starting lineup
• Thompson was the lone All-LSC selection as she landed on the third team with a 13.9 scoring average
• Soliz grabbed four double-doubles in 2018-19 as she finished with a 7.4 ppg and 7.3 rpg average
• Meador averaged 8.8 points and 5.1 rebounds per outing
• The other four returners include

• Payne saw action in 23 games and finished averaging 6.2 points in 21 minutes

• The Javelinas were picked 13th in the 2019-20 LSC Preseason Poll
• Lubbock Christian, the 2018-19 NCAA Division II National Champions, were picked to win the LSC in the first year in the new-look conference
• Lexy Hightower from West Texas A&M was named Preseason Player of the Year
