SILVER CITY, N.M. – The Texas A&M-Kingsville cross country competed in the 2019 Lone Star Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday at the University Golf Couse at Scott Park, as the men's team logged a 16th place finish with freshmanÂ
Devin Robles (Pearsall, Texas) leading the way.

Robles raced his way to a time of 28:11.00 in the 8k en route to a 68th-place finish. The first-year Javelina elevated the squad to an average time of 30:45.88 and a total time of 2:33.49.40.

Behind Robles in 90th was juniorÂ
Angel Martinez (El Paso, Texas) who crossed the tape in 29:02.30, a full minute faster than his 2018 finish.Â

Jasiah Patterson (Corpus Christi, Texas) and classmate
David Tellez (Los Fresnos, Texas) followed suit, with Patterson placing 118th on a time of 30:39.40 with Tellez finishing 125th in 32:01.00.

Additionally, freshmanÂ
Matthew Aparicio (Palacios, Texas) clocked in at 33:55.70 to finish 128th.

The LSC team champion for the men's division was West Texas A&M with a score of 39. Lubbock Christian nabbed the second-place slot with 86, while Cameron claimed bronze behind 97 points.

In the women's 6k, LCU found themselves atop the podium at 64 points, with the Lady Buffs securing silver at 85, while Eastern New Mexico landed third with a score of 90.

Monica Yanez (Edinburg, Texas) was the women's top finisher at 81st behind a time of 26:08.72. ClassmateÂ
Victoria Jaime (Carrizo Springs, Texas) finished next in 119th after clocking in at 29:03.77.Â

Not far behind her was juniorÂ
Larissa Sanchez Gonzalez (Querétaro, Mexico) who posted a time of 29:13.54 that earned her a 121st place finish.

Rounding things out, junior
Lauren Rodriguez (San Benito, Texas) finished in 31:11.43 and placed 130th.
