THE MATCHUPS
• TAMUK will open the 2018-19 campaign on the road in the LSC/RMAC Crossover against No. 22 Black Hills State and Chadron State
• The Javelinas are looking to rebound from an 8-20 campaign despite winning the final two games of the regular season
• Black Hills State is fresh off an appearance in the NCAA Tournament after falling to Angelo State to close out the year
• The Yellowjackets finished third in the RMAC with a 16-6 overall record and fell in the RMAC Tournament Championship to Colorado State-Pueblo at 84-69...BHSU will return it's second-leading scorer in Lyndzi Rich who finished the year with a 10.1 • scoring average on .539 shooting
• Chadron State was on the outside looking in at the RMAC Championships with a 4-18 conference record
• The Eagles finished the year having won one in their final six contests
• CSC lost its leading scorer in Kallie Feddersen, who finished the 2017-18 campaign with a 15.3 scoring average on .322 shooting
• Taryn Foxen returns after a freshman campaign that featured a 9.5 scoring average along with 3.6 rebounds per game on .414 shooting from the floor
• The Javelinas lost both contests last year to start the season 0-2,  falling 66-41 to BHSU and 57-56 to CSC
2017-18 In Review
• The Javelinas started the year with a loss in the LSC/RMAC Crossover, falling to Black Hills State at 66-41 and Chadron State at 57-56
• TAMUK followed up with three straight wins over regional foes, including one over St. Mary's (TX) at 48-46, and two against Texas A&M-International (65-62 and 46-43)
• The Blue and Gold entered conference play on a two-game skid after falling to Oklahoma Christian, 86-66, and Fort Lewis, 62-42
• The losing streak reached nine games as TAMUK dropped the first six games in Lone Star Conference before ending the streak with a 59-55 win over UT Permian Basin on Jan. 11
• The Javelinas dropped six games later in the year in LSC play before defeating Western New Mexico at 70-42 and Eastern New Mexico at 69-62 in overtime
Looking Forward
• The Javelinas returned three letterwinners from last year, only one starter, as
Brynae Thompson,
Victoria Salinas and
Kristina Kana all return from the 2017-18 squad

Bri-Anna Soliz was on last year's roster but did not play as she took a redshirt year
• Nine newcomers grace the 2018-19 roster including three Division-I transfers, two from Division-II schools, three from NJCAA programs and one true freshman

Rachel Tapps and
Nicole Hutchins make the transfer from D-I schools as Lane comes from Alcorn State, Tapps makes her way from UTEP and Hutchins is heading over from New Orleans

Angelica Wall and
Hannah Aucoin both come from D-II schools, both in the RMAC, as Wall comes from Adams State and Aucoin comes from Colorado State-Pueblo

Ravae Payne,
Lidia Guiral and
Danielle Meador all come from NJCAA programs as Payne makes her way from South Plains College, Guiral comes from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M and Meador is heading over from Kilgore

Bridget Upton is the lone true freshman as she comes from George West High School
Fifth Year under Scott
• This will be the fifth year the Javelinas will be led by
Wade Scott
• Scott is 27-81, 13-59 in LSC play, as head coach of TAMUK women's basketball
• Scott will be joined on the sideline by DJ Slifer, in his third year, while
Meesha Wade returns for her second year
LSC Outlook
• The Javelinas were picked 10th in the 2018-19 LSC Preseason Poll
• West Texaxs A&M, currently ranked seventh in the WBCA Preseason Poll, was picked to win the LSC
• Marquita Daniels of Angelo State was named the LSC Preseason Player of the Year
