SILVER CITY, N.M. – Texas A&M University-Kingsville (8-5, 1-1 LSC) salvages the weekend trip to New Mexico by sweeping Western New Mexico University (1-9, 0-2 LSC) for its first conference win Saturday night inside of Drag's Court. Â

After a tough match yesterday, the Javelina offense brought it in Silver City, finishing with a .302 clip and aced the Mustangs four times. In addition to the offense, the visiting team kept their defensive intensity high by sending back 12 blocks and holding the Western offense to a .027 attack percentage.Â

For the first time in her career,
Shelby Sheets led the Javelinas with a career-high 12 kills, staying hot as she has accumulated 29 kills in the last three matches.
Krystal Faison followed with nine kills, three blocks, and one ace, while
Lexi Wick logged eight kills and a match-high six blocks in the victory. Senior setter
Casey Klobedans dished out 31 assists and added three blocks and three kills.
Jasmine Jacinto had match-highs of 14 digs and two service aces. Â

Kalie Lyle led Western with eight kills, followed by Heather Verrill and Kelli McGhiey both finished with five kills each.Â
