SAN ANGELO, Texas (Baseball) – Texas A&M University-Kingsville (31-16) heads to the 2017 Lone Star Conference Tournament as the No. 2 seed and will take on #RV/RV West Texas A&M University (32-16) Thursday at 3 p.m. at Foster Field at 1
st Community Credit Union Stadium.
The Buffalos are the No. 3 seed and are coming off back-to-back losses to host Angelo State University.
IN THE REGION
The Buffs are No. 4 and the Javelinas are No. 5 in the latest NCAA Division II South Central Region poll. The top six teams receive a bid to the regional tournament May 18-21. The selection show is Sunday at 9 p.m. CT.
ABOUT THE HOGS
Christian Caudle and
Pablo Hernandez are third and fourth in the LSC in hitting, respectively, at .392 and .391. Caudle's 45 walks lead the conference and tie for the second most in Javelina single season history, four behind
Victor Ramirez's mark in 1996 and Hernandez's league-best 20 doubles are fourth most in program history.
Levi Zents follows at .370 and
Hunter Perkins is batting .309 with three home runs, 11 doubles and 33 RBI.
On the mound,
Seth Hubert is 7-3 with a 3.59 ERA.
Preston Plovanich leads the conference with five complete games and is 6-3 with a 4.05 ERA.
Isaiah Lybarger followed at 5-3 with a 3.47 ERA and
Zach Wilson rounds out the rotation with a 4-3 mark and 3.79 ERA.

Jako Kelm has four saves in 17 appearances.
Tyler Crouch has 15 punchouts in 13.0 innings and is 2-1 with a 1.38 ERA.
Trey Taylor has 13 strikeouts in 14.1 innings and
Sebi Palacios is 1-0 with a 3.37 ERA.
