KINGSVILLE, Texas (Baseball) – The 8-0 Javelinas begin the month of March with a four-game set versus the University of Texas of the Permian Basin (6-4) at Nolan Ryan Field March 3-5. A doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Friday, with single games on the docket Saturday at 3 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
No. 17/22 Texas A&M University-Kingsville is coming off a 16-2, 14-4 doubleheader sweep of Texas A&M International University Sunday.
IN THE POLLS
The Javelinas moved up from No. 19 to No. 17 in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association poll and enter the first Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll No. 22. TAMUK is atop the Lone Star Conference standings with the 8-0 win-loss record.

Hunter Perkins was named the conference's hitter of the week after going 8-of-10 versus the Dustdevils. Perkins began the double dip at Uni-Trade Stadium with a 3-for-5 performance at the plate. He scored three runs and added three RBI. In the 16-2 victory, Perkins blasted a solo shot - his first homer of the season - and added a double. In game two, Perkins went a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs scored and reached base safely six times. Perkins also played right field in game two and did not strike out in 11 plate appearances.
