CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (Golf) – Corpus Christi Country Club is the site of Texas A&M University-Kingsville's next spring tournament as the golf team heads to the annual Islander Classic Monday, Feb. 27-Tuesday, Feb. 28. Thirty-six holes are scheduled for Monday beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. and the final 18 holes begin at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The Javelinas are one of 12 teams competing but just one of two NCAA Division II clubs as the top team in the nation, Dallas Baptist University, joins the Hogs. Alongside TAMUK and DBU are host Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, the University of the Incarnate Word, Lamar University, the University of Louisiana at Monroe, McNeese State University, Sam Houston State University, Southern Illinois University, the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley, the University of Wyoming, and No. 3 McLennan Junior College.

LAST TIME OUT
Reanna De La Cruz finished third in the spring opener at the Jack Brown Memorial Invitational. A&M-Kingsville shot 330 as a team in round two en route to a second-place finish. De La Cruz shot a 78 in round two to finish with a score of 155.
ACADEMIC AWARDS
Earlier this week,
Meagan Cantu was announced as the newest recipient of the ACSM Undergraduate Scholar Award. Cantu is a senior on the team, having competed in the fall.
