KINGSVILLE, Texas – The first of three consecutive games away from home for Texas A&M University-Kingsville (2-0) begins in Alamo City against St. Mary's University (0-2) at the Bill Greehey Arena with action starting approximately at 7:30 p.m.

You could not have asked for a better start to the season as a fan of the Javelinas. After a comfortable 71-53 win over South Dakota Mines, the Hogs dominated Chadron State 95-63 to start the year with a 2-0 for the third consecutive season. The strong regional wins elevated the Javelinas in the D2SIDA regional ranks, placing them in a tie for ninth with St. Edward's University.

After one week of competition, the Hogs find themselves towards the top of the country defensively with 27 forced turnovers (2nd in NCAA), an 11.0 turnover margin (4th in NCAA), and a scoring defense of 58 points per game (11th in NCAA). They also rank 14th in Division II with a 25-point scoring margin.

Transfer Jacolby Harris leads the team with 10.5 points per game after dropping 16 against Chadron State off of the bench.
Christian Bambrook is next with ten PPG, followed by
Caelan Neal and
Will West who each have nine points per contest. Defensive standout
Robert Stevenson has held down the paint with team-highs of six boards per game and five blocks, including four blocks in the season opener versus South Dakota Mines.Â

The Rattlers are coming off of a tough opening weekend in Colorado where they fell in double overtime against Regis University (83-82) and then lost to Colorado Mines (67-53) to conclude the RMAC-Heartland Challenge. They will return home for the first time since early February. Although posting an 8-5 record on their home court last season, St. Mary's went 12-18 overall with two of those losses coming at the hands of the Javelinas. Peter Radojicic - a transfer from Texas State - is the team leader in points and rebounds at 13.5 and 8.0, respectively, and shoots nearly 60 percent from the floor. DeMarco Enoch averages 12 points per game and Juwan Green scores 11 a game to round out STMU's top producers. Â Â
