ODESSA, Texas (Women's Basketball) – Texas A&M University-Kingsville (7-5, 2-4 LSC) look to improve to .500 in Lone Star Conference play when they take on the University of Texas of the Permian Basin (5-7, 2-4 LSC) in UTPB Gym Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and conference preseason favorite West Texas A&M University (11-4, 4-2 LSC) Saturday at 2 p.m. in the First United Bank Center.

THE GAMES
TIP OFF
The Javelinas and Falcons split their regular season series last year.
Kaylin Roher leads the Hogs with 11.5 points per game and 2.1 steals per contest. The senior is making 2.6 three-pointers per game (tops in the LSC) and is shooting 41.9 percent from long distance (second in conference).
- Kaylee Kana's 8.4 rebounds per contest are second most in the LSC. The senior is coming off back-to-back 10 rebounds games and registered her first career double-double (14 points, 10 boards) versus A&M-Commerce Jan. 5.
- Lily Hospers has stepped into the starting lineup following injuries to
Jaiton Walls and
Angelica Wilson, and the New Zealand native has 23 rebounds and six blocks in the span. In fact, Hospers pulled down a career-high 15 rebounds in the overtime loss to Tarleton State Jan. 7.
- Tee Moore has reached double figures four times this season and in back-to-back games, including tying her season-high of 14 points versus the TexAnns. Moore is second on the team in scoring with 8.4 points per contest.
- Meesha Wade has played the role of facilitator, leading the club with 3.4 assists per game to go with her 7.9 points and 4.9 rebounds... Wade has reached double figures in the last three games and also adds 1.7 steals/game.
ALL-TIME SERIES BREAKDOWN
Against UTPB, the Javelinas are 1-4 following their win in the first meeting in 2015-16. The Hogs are 0-3 in Odessa. West Texas A&M has dominated the all-time series, winning the last 14 meetings with a 55-9 overall record.
LAST TIME OUT
Moore drained a corner triple with 6.4 seconds remaining in regulation but Tarleton State University closed the fourth with a buzzer beater to force overtime and ultimately, escape Kingsville with a 62-59 victory. In TAMUK's loss, Roher scored 17 points, 15 coming from three-point range and Hospers pulled down a career-high 15 rebounds.

Following the weekend battle with the Lady Buffs, the Javelinas return to the Gil E. Steinke Physical Education Center to host Eastern New Mexico University Jan. 17 at 5:15 p.m. and Western New Mexico University Jan. 19 at 4 p.m.
