Coy Shoots 72, Golf Closes out Season with Two Stroke Improvement

Coy finished 15th individually



AMARILLO, Texas (Golf) –
The 2016 Texas A&M University-Kingsville golf season came to a close Tuesday at the 2016 Lone Star Conference Golf Championships at the La Paloma Course at Tascosa Golf Club and the Javelinas finished with a two-stroke improving, scoring a 340 in round two to finish seventh with a final team score of 682. Analysa Coy moved up 16 spots after a career best round of 72 (one-over-par), tied for the third best round in the LSC.
 
Coy's round two allowed the senior to finish in the top 15 individually with a 156. Rachelle Nielson finished tied for 22nd with a total score of 161 after a round two of 81.
 
No. 6 Tarleton State University won the team title with a final team score of 592, two strokes ahead of No. 36 Midwestern State University. The Mustangs shot a round two low of 288. No. 77 Whitlee Woods of No. 30 West Texas A&M University won the individual crown with a score of 144. She shot a 73 in round two to finish two-over-par for the two-day tournament. No. 66 Sierra Campbell and Hayley Dambold of MSU led round two players with scores of 70 (one-under-par).
