McALLEN, Texas (Golf) –
Texas A&M University-Kingsville sits tied for 10th after day one of the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Invitational at the McAllen Country Club. The Javelinas shot a 361 in round one Monday.
 
Overall, Lamar University leads the way with a 310, five strokes ahead of Houston Baptist University.
 
Analysa Coy shot an 83 in the opening round and is tied for 27th individually, pacing the way for the Hogs. Rachelle Nielson posted a score of 84 (tied for 33rd). There is a tie atop the leaderboards after the first round as HBU's Kaity Cummings and Lamar's Taylor Stockton shot 76 on the par-71 course.
 
A shotgun start is set for 8:30 a.m. tomorrow weather permitting.
 
Results will be available at the conclusion of each day on JavelinaAthletics.com.
