LAREDO, Texas (Baseball) – The road trip ends at Jorge Haynes Field for #RV/30 Texas A&M University-Kingsville (16-7) as the Javelinas head to nearby Texas A&M International University (11-14) for a midweek South Central Regional bout with the Dustdevils March 22 at 2 p.m.

The Javelinas won four-out-of-five games last week and
Christian Caudle was masterful, going 10-of-13 and reaching base safely 14 times, while striking out once in the week. In fact, he hit .769 with four RBI, six runs scored and also successfully swiped two bags.
Zach Smith batted .444 last week with six RBI,
Ruben Almaguer followed with a .421 clip and three doubles and
Hayden Vesely was at .400 with six ribbies.
Miles Holcomb and
Hunter Perkins were over the .300 mark. On the hill,
Jacob Foitek and
Preston Plovanich went back-to-back with complete games in consecutive games. Plovanich's was a six-strikeout, three-hit shutout in a 6-0 victory over Lone Star Conference foe Eastern New Mexico University.

In the RankingsTexas A&M University-Kingsville is tied for sixth in the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association (NCBWA) South Central Region.

Prior to the weekend series, the Javelinas were ranked 12
th in triples in Division II with 11, led by Vesely's five, which are sixth most in the nation.

OverallDalton Perry leads the team in hitting with a .392 batting average. Smith has a team-high nine steals and is batting .333 with a home run and 12 RBI. Vesely (.357), Caudle (.340),
Jimmy Roche (.323) and Almaguer (.319) are all over the .300 plateau.

On the bump, Plovanich is 1-0 with a 2.34 ERA in seven appearances (five starts).
Sebi Palacios is 1-0 with a 2.59 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 24.1 innings.
Shane Veeder has appeared in eight games.

About the DustdevilsTexas A&M International is 11-14 overall and 2-4 in Heartland Conference play. Losers of three straight, the Dustdevils were swept by Arkansas-Fort Smith last weekend. Overall, Sergio Pollorena leads the team in hitting with a .478 batting average and a home run. Jeffrey Morgan is batting .346 with eight RBI and William Mora has four home runs and 27 RBI to go with his .287 clip.

All-TimeThe Javelinas are 13-8 all-time against the Dustdevils, but TAMIU took the meeting last season. Earlier this season, Texas A&M-Kingsville swept the series at Nolan Ryan Field.
