KINGSVILLE, Texas (Baseball) –
Major League Baseball is reporting for Spring Training this week but those looking for their baseball fix can head to Nolan Ryan Field this weekend as Texas A&M University-Kingsville (1-3) hosts Texas A&M International University (4-6) for a three-game set, beginning Feb. 19 at 6 p.m.

Saturday's doubleheader begins at 1 p.m. Live stats and video will be available for the series and can be accessed by visiting JavelinaAthletics.com, the official home of Texas A&M-Kingsville athletics.

The Javelinas last played Feb. 9 and the offense exploded for 13 runs in a 13-2 victory over the University of Houston-Victoria. In the game, Christian Caudle and David Massey finished with three RBI apiece and Pablo Hernandez put an exclamation point on a six-run ninth with a pinch hit, two-run home run.

Jimmy Roche is hitting .455 with three runs scored and Ruben Almaguer has two extra-base hits in his first four games in a Javelina uniform. On the hill, Trey Taylor has five strikeouts in 4.1 innings and the redshirt sophomore has appeared in every game, allowing just two hits. Sebi Palacios struck out 10 in 6.0 innings of work in the season opener and Jako Kelm has seven punchouts in 6.0 innings. The Javelina pitching staff, comprised of many newcomers as Taylor and Shane Veeder are the lone hurlers with more than 5.0 innings of work in 2015, has a team ERA of 3.50.

The Dustdevils took three-out-of-four games from Our Lady of the Lake University, a first year program, and are 4-6 in 2016. A South Central Regional team competing in the Heartland, Texas A&M International is led by Jeremy Valadez's .358 batting average. Three batters have home runs this season and Alex Medina has six RBIs. Justin Diaz has not allowed an earned run in 7.2 innings and the expected rotation of Eduardo Rodriguez (1-2, 2.04 ERA), Osvaldo Raya (1-1, 2.93 ERA) and Dustin Labit (0-2, 9.95 ERA) has combined for 39 strikeouts in 45.2 innings.
