KINGSVILLE, Texas (Women's Basketball) – Texas A&M University-Kingsville (5-17, 0-12 LSC) begins a busy week at home, hosting Midwestern State University (4-19, 3-10 LSC) Feb. 17 at 5:30 p.m. and Texas Woman's University (18-7, 8-5 LSC) Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. at the Gil E. Steinke Physical Education Center-Kingsville Hampton Inn Court.
Thursday's game versus the Pioneers is the Play4Kay contest, raising awareness for Breast Cancer. The first 250 fans in attendance will receive a pink water bottle courtesy of CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Kleberg.
Kaylin Roher leads the Javelinas with 11.4 points per game, 10
th most in the Lone Star Conference. Her 47 three-pointers rank fourth in the conference.
Jamesha Wade and
Kyra Bauer follow with 7.6 points per contest.
The Javelinas are 16-24 all-time against the Mustangs, with the series knotted up at 10-10 in the SPEC.
Midwestern State is in eighth place in the LSC standings and with a win, the Mustangs clinch the final postseason spot. The Javelinas need to win out in order to stay alive.
Whitney Taylor leads the club with 11.4 points per game and Krishawn Crockett follows with 7.9 points per game. In LSC play, Taylor ranks seventh, scoring 13.2 points per game. Kathryn Odom leads the team in assists with 3.4 and Jennifer Sissel is pulling down 6.8 rebounds per game.
For the Pioneers, Erin Maxwell leads the team with 11.9 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. Kenesha Sago follows with 10.8 points and 3.7 rebounds.
