GAME 7: Hogs Look to Go Back-to-Back, Welcome UTPB on Homecoming

KINGSVILLE, Texas (Football) –
Coming off a 51-34 victory at West Texas A&M University, Texas A&M University-Kingsville (3-3, 1-3 LSC) returns to Javelina Stadium to host the University of Texas of the Permian Basin (2-4, 0-4 LSC) Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. on Kleberg Bank Homecoming Night.

ALL-TIME SERIES
UT Permian Basin is in its inaugural season of football. Head coach Justin Carrigan is no stranger to the Lone Star Conference, having spent time as the offensive coordinator at Tarleton State University.
 
NATIONAL AWARDS
Earlier this week, sophomore defensive end Brandon Jones was named Lone Star Conference and D2Football.com National Defensive Player of the Week after tallying 6.0 tackles for a loss. On the year, Jones has collected 9.0 TFLs for 50 yards, followed by Braedon Robinson's 8.0 for 33 yards. The Hogs continue to pile up interceptions as the defense has nine through six games, including four pick-sixes.
 
COUNT ON CARR… AND CO.
Senior quarterback Myles Carr has tossed 14 touchdowns and thrown just one interception, ranking in the top 10 nationally in pass efficiency and turnover margin. He has connected with Anthony Autry for five touchdowns in 2016. The rushing attack is led by Nick Pelrean's five touchdowns after his two-touchdown, 105-yard performance last week. Greg Pitre led all rushers with 130 yards on 21 carries in just one half last week.
 
SCOUTING THE FALCONS
UTPB will start Kameron Mathis or Caden Coots at quarterback. Mathis is 73-of-152 with six touchdowns and four interceptions in five games. The Falcons began the season 2-0 with wins over Sul Ross State University and Arizona Christian but are 0-4 in LSC play. Brandon Infiesto averages 92.0 yards/game and has four rushing touchdowns.
