SEGUIN, Texas – Analysa Coy finished second, a career best, at the Lady Bulldog Invitational that took place at the Starcke Park Municipal Course. The Texas A&M-Kingsville women's golf team shot a final round 318 on Tuesday to finish fourth with a 67-over par, 643.
Coy shot 76 (+4) over the final 18 holes to wrap up the tournament at 153 (+9), tied for the fifth lowest 36-hole total ever by a Javelina. She finished two shots ahead of Shelby Allen (Concordia), Kayla Bartley (Western Texas Community College) and Bernice Leonard (Southwestern). Taking home the individual title was Western Texas CC's Emily Coleman at 146 (+2).
Jessica Sellers jumped five places after the first round to come in a five way tie for 12th at 160, 16-over. Rounding out the scoring rounds for the Javelinas was
Brittany Rodriguez at 164 (+20) and
Rachelle Nielsen at 166 (+22). Rodriguez ended up tied for 22nd and Nielsen shared 24th.
Also competing for the Blue and Gold was
Bianca Silerio. She wound up 35th after a 36-hole total of 182 (+38).
The Westerners claimed the team title after shooting a tournament-low 303 in the second round. Mary Hardin-Baylor was second, four shots back, followed by Hardin-Simmons (636) and TAMUK.
Next up for the Javelinas will be the Houston-Victoria Fall Invite that takes place Oct. 5-6.
