SEGUIN, Texas – After the first round of the Lady Bulldog Invitational, the Texas A&M-Kingsville women's golf is tied for second following a 325, 37-over par at the Starcke Park Municipal Course.
Analysa Coy paces the Javelinas with 77 (+5) as she is tied for third and two strokes out of first place.
Leading the way on the team leaderboard is Mary Hardin-Baylor with a 30-over 318. Sitting seven shots back of them is TAMUK and Hardin-Simmons.
Coy shares third with Kayla Bartley of Western Texas Community College. The two competitors ahead of them are the Westerner's Emily Coleman (75) and Arabella Cruz (76) from McMurry.
Also cracking the top 20 on the leaderboard for the Blue and Gold was sophomore
Brittany Rodriguez. Her opening round of 81 (+9) places her in a three-way tie for 13th with Sara Falcon of WTCC and Mary Hardin-Baylor's McKenna Ralston.
Jessica Sellers shot an 83 (+11) to finish the day in 17th while fellow teammate
Rachelle Nielsen came in a stroke behind her, sharing 21st place.
TAMUK returns to the course tomorrow to conclude the Texas Lutheran University hosted tournament and a chance to claim the program's second ever team title.
