Baseball’s Weekend Series Shuffled Around

Javelinas will take on No. 13/6 Angelo State on Sunday and Monday beginning at 1 p.m. both days

KINGSVILLE, Texas (Baseball) –
Inclement weather has forced Texas A&M University-Kingsville (15-7, 9-2 LSC) to push back its weekend series versus No. 13/6 Angelo State University (18-4, 8-3 LSC) to doubleheaders on Sunday, March 22 and Monday, March 23.

First pitch is set for 1 p.m. both days and the first game on both days will be seven innings, with the second scheduled for nine.

The Javelinas have won six consecutive ballgames – all conference games – while the Rams are coming off a split with West Texas A&M University. Atop the standings, Texas A&M-Kingsville's pitching dominated its way to a four-game sweep over Eastern New Mexico University.

Currently, TAMUK is atop the standings in the Lone Star Conference, one game ahead of the Rams. In the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association South Central Region rankings, ASU sits at No. 3 with the Javelinas at No. 6. The top six teams in the region – teams competing in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, LSC and Heartland Conference – will compete in a postseason tournament in mid-May.

The Javelinas are 5-0 this season in series' as Newman University, Texas College, West Texas, Cameron University and Eastern New Mexico were all victims to this year's balanced squad.

Live stats will be available for all four games and can be accessed by visiting JavelinaAthletics.com, the official home of Texas A&M-Kingsville athletics.
