STEPHENVILLE, Texas (Men's Basketball) – For the second consecutive season, Texas A&M University-Kingsville (3-1) will head to the Tarleton State University Thanksgiving Classic in Wisdom Gym. The two-day tournament, spanning from Nov. 27-28 will feature the Javelinas taking on Ouachita Baptist University (1-3) on Friday at 5 p.m. and Colorado State University-Pueblo (3-1) on Saturday at 5 p.m.

The Javelinas are coming off a 76-66 victory over Ohio Valley University. The Javelinas earned a victory over the Tigers in their lone meeting, 71-59, in 1998, and a win, 90-79, in 2013 over the ThunderWolves.

Their Saturday opponent competed in the Emerald Beach Hotel Javelina Men's Basketball Tip-Off Challenge and went 2-0 with wins over Texas A&M International University and the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.

DJ Weathers leads all Javelinas with 15.0 points per game and the senior guard is shooting 42.9 percent from three-point range and adds 5.8 rebounds and 2.0 steals per contest.
Cris Boleware records 3.3 assists per game and adds 1.0 steal and 6.5 points.
Troy Jones registered a double-double earlier this season and is shooting 54.3 percent while scoring 12.5 points and pulling down 5.8 boards.
Jamar Goodwin leads the club with 6.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals to go with his 1.0 block and 8.3 points per game.

The Javelinas are No. 25 in scoring defense and No. 12 in three-point field goal defense.

Scouting the TigersLakee Westbrook is shooting lights out from behind-the-arc and has hit 21-of-22 free throws to lead all Ouachita Baptist players with 20.3 points per game. He is followed by Tirrell Brown's 12.3 points and 4.8 rebounds. A 1-3 overall mark and 0-2 in the Great American Conference, the Tigers are led by former NBA player Dennis Nutt. Nutt played for the Dallas Mavericks from 1986-88.

As a team, Ouachita Baptist is No. 9 in three-point field goal percentage (46.6) and No. 29 in total three-pointers made.

Scouting the ThunderWolvesA 3-1 mark in 2015-16, CSU-Pueblo earned two wins on the home floor of the Javelinas to begin the season. They are coming off back-to-back games versus nationally-ranked Midwestern State University, a team the Javelinas will see later on this season. The ThunderWolves upset the Mustangs in the latter matchup, 87-74, and will take on No. 1/2 Tarleton State on day one of the TSU Thanksgiving Tournament.

Senior guard Chris Golden is scoring 22.3 points per game and averages 5.0 three-pointers per contest, tops in NCAA Division II. Nelson Kahler is recording 12.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.3 blocks and 1.5 assists. Odessa Lear leads the team with 8.0 rebounds and 1.0 steal per contest.
