SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Finishing the first round of the UIW Fall Invitational at the Republic Golf Club with a team low 7-over, 78 was senior
Jessica Sellers. The Texas A&M-Kingsville women's golf team totaled a 350 and is eight shots back of Texas A&M International.
Sellers is in a three way tie for 12th with Incarnate Word's Lauren Manch and Bailey McCawley of Texas A&M International. In the round, Sellers played the par 3s and 4s at +1 and +2, respectively, and carded 10 pars.
Analysa Coy entered the clubhouse tied with Bethany Accy of Murray State CC for 24th place after shooting an 84.
Finishing third among the Javelina golfers was
Brittany Rodriguez with an 89. She heads into the final 18 holes tied for 30th with the Dustdevils' Stephanie Gonzalez.
Leading the pack of individuals with a 3-under, 68 is Johany Rivera of St. Edward's. One shot back is Stephen F. Austin's Jessica White.
The Hilltoppers are in first in the team standings. They recorded an 11-over, 295 and are in front of the Lady Jacks by a stroke. Rounding out the leaderboard is Incarnate Word (310), Murray State CC (331), Texas A&M International and the Blue and Gold.
The second and final round begins tomorrow at 8:30 a.m.
