Baseball Goes Head –To - Head with Buffs in Second Game of Tournament

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Texas A&M-Kingsville will face off with West Texas A&M at Suplizio Field in a Lone Star Conference Post-Season Baseball Tournament re-match on Friday at 7 p.m. (Mountain time) / 8 p.m. (Central time) in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional Baseball Tournament.

The season series between the Javelinas and Buffaloes is 3-5, in favor of West Texas A&M.

Kingsville enters the game with a 35-18 mark and riding the wave of a win against South Central region rival St. Edward's. West Texas moved 36-19 after defeating Tarleton State on Thursday.

Offensively, Kingsville is hitting .295 as a team. Brian Frazier leads the team with a .379 average with Derrick Walls in second with .372. Walls leads the Javelinas with 25 stolen bases on the season. Taylor leads the team with eight home runs and 85 total bases.

The Buffs are hitting .325 as a team, while their ERA is 4.24. They are led in hitting by Tyler McKnight with a .391 batting average. On the mound, three pitchers for the Buffs have at least eight wins under their belts. Dylan James (8-3) leads the way with 2.40 ERA in 90 innings with three complete games, while Scott Cone is 8-2 with a 4.20 ERA in 85-2/3 innings with one complete game. Joshua Weyker is 8-5 with a 4.48 ERA in 81-1/3 innings with six complete games.
