KINGSVILLE, Texas – With only two games left in the regular season, the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelina women's basketball team looks to make postseason play against the Mustangs of Midwestern State. A win tomorrow would move the team up in the rankings to possibly sixth in the Lone Star Conference.
The Javelinas come home to the Kingsville Hampton Inn Court with a 4-10 conference record after enduring an 83-69 defeat Wednesday at the hands of Cameron. The Mustangs enter at 16-9 overall and 8-6 in the LSC.
This looks to be a huge game for
Sheana Jones who ranks fourth in the conference with 1.9 steals per game.
Kingsville ranks first place in the LSC for steals, averaging 10.7 per game while Midwestern averages only 15.7 turnovers per game (3
rd in the conference). The Javelinas will have to capitalize on this to have an edge heading into Saturday's contest. Three Javelinas rank in the top 10 in steals per game.
Rosalie Cutri is first with 2.5 swipes a game and
Lindsey Mahone, who leads the team with 13.9 points a game, fourth at 2.1.
