KINGSVILLE, Texas – With a rare mid-week break during Lone Star Conference play behind it, the Texas A&M-Kingsville women's basketball team returns to action Saturday as it visits Angelo State in Stephens Arena in the Junell Center at 2 p.m.
The Javelinas enter the contest with a 7-10 record after suffering an 81-59 defeat last Saturday at Midwestern State. Kingsville is now 2-5 in Lone Star Conference action. The Rambelles are 10-8 overall and 4-4 in the LSC.
The meeting will be a special one for
Lindsey Mahone – the Javelinas' top scorer. Mahone spent one season at Angelo State. She will also be squaring off against her sister Leah LeMaire, who is a senior for ASU.
Mahone is the top scorer for the Javelinas scoring 12.9 points a game with 6.9 rebounds. Both figures are fifth in the LSC. She leads the team with 37 steals and is tied for second in the league with 2.2 swipes a game. Mahone posted her third double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds at MSU last week. The Javelinas continue to lead the conference in steals with 11.7 a game with
Rosalie Cutri first with 2.7 a game.
Sheana Jones is seventh at 1.8 steals a game.
Hillari Adams is the top scorer and rebounder for Angelo State, which is tops in the LSC in scoring defense allowing just 58 points a game. She is scoring 12.1 points a game and is pulling down 6.3 rebounds.
