KINGSVILLE, Texas – Prior to celebrating Thanksgiving on Thursday, the Texas A&M-Kingsville women's basketball team will host Southern Arkansas on Wednesday night at 6 p.m.
Fans who bring a new unwrapped toy will receive one free admission to the game.
The Javelinas enter the game with a 3-2 record after scoring 98 points in their last outing against Our Lady of the Lake. Kingsville won 98-80. Southern Arkansas comes into Wednesday's contest with a 2-2 mark after falling to Division I Northwestern State 77-53 in its most recent games.
Rosalie Cutri continues to be a driving force behind the Javelinas along with fellow Division I transfer
Lindsey Mahone. In just 17 minutes on Friday night, Cutri, the Lone Star Conference leader in steals, swiped six balls. She is 10
th in the LSC in scoring with 10.0 a game and ninth with 3.2 assists. Meanwhile, Mahone is second on the team in scoring with 11 a game and leads the way with 4.8 rebounds. She is second on the team and sixth in the LSC with 1.6 thefts a game.
In the team's most recent outing, four players posted career bests in points for the Javelinas. Senior
Rita Banaszczak had a team-high 19 points, while sophomore
Michelle Wagner added 16 with three 3-point baskets. Junior
Lauren Jay and freshman
Micah Weaver also had personal bests with 12 and 10 points respectively.
Two others finished in double digits as Mahone tallied 11 and Cutri 10. The Javelina bench outscored their counterparts 65-23 as four bench players had double digits and six in all scored in the contest.
The Lady Muleriders are led in scoring by Chanel Miller with 15.3 points a game and Rebekah Knudson with 10.5. Miranda Grier leads the way with 7.0 rebounds a game.
