San Angelo -- Needing a spark heading into next week's Lone Star Conference Tournament, the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas got it, rallying for five runs in the top of the ninth inning to beat Angelo State 11-10. Click here for boxscore.
  The win broke a six-game Javelina losing streak and a broke the Rams six-game winning streak. A&M-Kingsville is now 27-28 overall and finished 22-22 in the Lone Star Conference.
  After allowing the Rams to scored eight runs in the first four innings, senior relief pitcher Ricky Erwin came on and kept the Javelinas in the game by allowing only four hits, two runs and one of them earned over the final five innings to earn the victory.
  Junior Wiley Crowson went 3-for-4 with four RBI to lead the Javelina offense, which belted out 16 hits.
  Will Alexander, Joe Hamon, Owen Weaver, Chase Myrick, Gil Perez (Odem) and Erik Gomez each had two hits apiece.
  Trailing 10-6 entering the ninth, Crowson singled to drive in the first run and the Rams then made three consecutive errors to allow a run to score. Erik Gomez then singled with the bases loaded to drive in two runs to tie the game at 10-10 and Gil Perez scored on a wild pitch to give the Javelinas the lead.
  Erwin got the first two hitters in the ninth, but hit a batter who then stole second. But Erwin ended the game by striking out pinch hitter Brett Nightingale to end the game.
  The sixth seeded Javelinas will take on regular season champion and top seeded Abilene Christian in Abilene in the first round of the LSC Tournament Saturday night at 7:00 p.m.
