The Javelinas are now 20-18 on the season.

Gomez hit his first home run since transferring to A&M-Kingsville in the top of the third to give the Hogs a 1-0 lead.

Josh Livingston and Steven Hooker combined to shutout the Rattlers over the first three innings.

But St. Mary's scored two unearned runs in the fourth to take the lead for good and added four in the sixth and one in the seventh and eighth.

The Hogs scored their only other run in the top of the seventh on a run-scoring single by Taylor Everett.

The Javelinas will remain on the road as they travel to Stephenville on Friday to begin a four-game series with Tarleton State.
