Portales, N.M. – Despite pulling to within two points midway through the second half, the Javelina offense went cold down the stretch for a second consecutive game, falling 58-48 to Eastern New Mexico at Greyhound Arena.

Lana Toki scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds, Angela Trotter had 13 points and eight boards and Ali Scott scored in double figures for a second consecutive game with 10.
"We had some bad mental mistakes," said Javelina head coach Dina Kangas. "We didn’t get stops when we needed it down the stretch. We just couldn’t make plays and our offensive execution wasn’t very good."
The loss dropped the Javelinas to 8-15 overall and 3-6 in the Lone Star Conference South Division. Eastern New Mexico improved to 12-10 and 3-7 in conference play.
The Javelinas never led in the game, but were in the contest the entire way.
Eastern ran out to a 9-2 lead to start the game, but could never push the lead to double figures.
The Javelinas cut the advantage to a point 24-23 with 3:17 left in the half, but Eastern scored the final seven points of the half, holding the Javelinas scoreless and taking a 31-23 lead into the intermission.
A&M-Kingsville came out strong to start the second half, scoring the first six pints of the half to again cut the lead to two, 31-29.
The Eastern lead was still just two, 44-42, but the Zias went on an 8-0 run to build the lead to 10, 52-42 with 3:24 remaining.
The Javelinas could get no closer than five points the rest of the way.
