For the women's basketball program, Johnson led the Javelinas with 15 points on 6-for-10 shooting off the bench to go with three rebounds and three blocks in the win over Chadron State. It was the first career win for head coach Michael Madrid as he embarked on his first year at the helm of the program.

Johnson helped put the Javelinas back within striking distance of the Eagles as TAMUK posted an 18-2 run in the second quarter to flip the score from 23-13 favoring the hosts, to 31-25 favoring the visitors. She also helped start the third quarter on a 12-0 run that ballooned the lead to 48-35 before the Blue and Gold coasted to a 63-57 win.

The sophomore transfer from Tyler Junior College is averaging nine points through two games in 2019-20 coming off the bench on a .467 clip to go with 2.5 rebounds per game.
