For the football program, Ross compiled 242 all-purpose yards, including 151 yards on eight catches in the loss to Eastern New Mexico on Saturday. The senior from Palmdale, Calif., caught one touchdown pass in the third quarter against the Greyhounds and added another score off a 48-yard punt return on the ensuing ENMU drive.
It was the first punt return touchdown by a Javelina since Corey Robertson ran one back against Abilene Christian on October 31, 2009.
Ross added another 43 yards on kick returns and is currently second in the conference with 158 punt return yards. He was rewarded for his efforts by the Lone Star Conference as he was named the league’s Special Team Player of the Week on September 30. It was the first honor by a Javelina since Julio De La Garza was tabbed for the same award on November 5, 2018.
