The Havana, Cuba, native took the first pitch he saw over the left field wall with one out in the bottom of the 13th to propel TAMUK to its third win in the opening LSC series in dramatic fashion.
On the year, Hernandez is fourth on the team with a .313 clip behind 30 hits in 96 at bats, slugging .479 coupled with four doubles, three triples and two home runs, driven in 23 RBI, scored 16 runs and drawn nine walks for a .368 on-base percentage.
