Castillo had a piece of all three Javelina victories during the sweep at Vernie and Blanche Hubert Field. On Friday night she collected 15 strikeouts and allowed only three hits and one earned run in a complete game victory over the Lions.

The Kingsville, Texas, native added a save of the frontend of Saturday’s doublehader after recording the last four outs in a 10-7 win, and came back to start the backend before coming away with one run allowed in four innings for a 3-1 triumph. She held TAMUC to a .136 average in 12 and 1/3 innings pitched while striking out 19 to move her record to 11-1 alongside 94 strikeouts on the season.

For her efforts, Castillo added her second Lone Star Conference Pitcher of the Week selection and the Javelinas were rewarded as a team with the No. 15 ranking in the NFCA poll.
