Kingsville - Coming off of yet another strong weekend, the Texas A&M-Kingsville men's and women's track and field teams are returning to Kingsville for the second and final home meet of their seasons as they will host six teams in the Cactus Cup in Javelina Stadium across Friday and Saturday.

Friday will feature just three events, two field (javelin - men, then women and hammer - men, then women), and one track (the 5,000m - men, then women). Friday's field events will begin at 4:00 p.m. and its track events will begin at 7:00 p.m.. The rest of the meet's events will take place on Saturday, with field events set to begin at noon and the track events set for 3:00 p.m.. The teams' eight graduating seniors will be honored on the field just prior to the beginning of Saturday's track events (2:50 p.m.). A full schedule is available here.

In addition to the Javelinas, teams from Our Lady of the Lake, St. Edward's, Trinity (TX), UTRGV, North American, and TAMUCC are all set to compete across the meet's two days. 

The Javelinas are coming off of an excellent weekend in which they split up their teams, competing in the Trinity Invitational in San Antonio, the Bobcat Invite in San Macros, and the Texas Relays in Austin. Between the three meets, the teams set five new top-25 times in the nation and six new top-10 times in the program's history. They will now hope to continue that momentum into the final full month of their season, with almost exactly one month standing between them and the Lone Star Conference Championships.
