TAMUK Takes on LSU in Marquee Matchup at LSU Beach Battle on the Bayou

Kingsville – With an 18-5 record and the postseason on the horizon, the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelina beach volleyball team hits the road to Baton Rouge, Louisiana this weekend for the LSU Beach Battle on the Bayou at the LSU Beach Volleyball Stadium.

The Javelinas have been one of the stronger programs on the sand this spring, looking to close out the regular season on a high note against a four-team field over two days. With the AVCA Small College Beach Championships in Gulf Shores, Alabama up next, this weekend serves as the final tune-up before the postseason run begins.

Friday, April 10

Kingsville opens the tournament at 9:15 a.m. against Spring Hill College. The Badgers enter at 8-10 on the season. The Javelinas then close out Friday at 1:00 p.m. against a familiar foe in New Orleans, who enters at 9-11. The Privateers handed TAMUK a 3-2 loss earlier this season, giving the Javelinas plenty of motivation for a rematch.

Saturday, April 11

The Javelinas return to the sand at 10:30 a.m. against Louisiana State University, who enters at 13-13 on the season. It is the marquee matchup of the year as Kingsville takes on a Division I powerhouse on their home court in one of the most iconic venues in college beach volleyball. The Javelinas close out the weekend at 2:15 p.m. against Nicholls, who enters at 8-14. The Javelinas have dominated the Colonels this season, winning both previous meetings 4-1, and will look to make it a clean sweep on the year.

The Javelinas will look to stay sharp, build confidence, and carry momentum into the postseason.
