Javelinas travel to Tennessee for Austin Peay Beach Volleyball Classic

Kingsville — With a 15-4 record and momentum on their side, the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelina beach volleyball team makes the trip to Clarksville, Tennessee this weekend for the Austin Peay Beach Volleyball Classic at the Atkins Family Beach Volleyball Facility.

The Javelinas have been one of the stronger programs on the sand this spring, sitting at 15-4 on the season and looking to add to that mark against a four-team field over two days. TAMUK faces a mix of opponents at varying points in their seasons, giving the Javelinas a chance to stay sharp and build depth.

Friday, April 3

Kingsville opens the tournament at 10:00 a.m. against the University of Central Arkansas. The Bears enter at 7-12 on the season and will look to finally capture a win against Kingsville after losing twice earlier this season. The Javelinas then close out Friday at 4:00 p.m. against host Austin Peay State University, who enters at 9-14 on the season with the home crowd behind them. The Governors have not lost to a Division II team all season as the Javelinas look to be the first.

Saturday, April 4

The Javelinas return to the sand early Saturday at 8:00 a.m. against McKendree University, who enters at 5-6. Kingsville closes out the weekend at 10:00 a.m. against Tennessee Tech, who enters at 2-17.

With just one tournament remaining after Clarksville before the AVCA Small College Beach Championships, this weekend takes on added importance. The Javelinas will look to stay sharp, build confidence and carry momentum into the final stretch of their season.
