TAMUK Cheerleading Claims Second Place at National Championships in Daytona

Daytona, FL – The Texas A&M-Kingsville cheerleading team turned in a strong performance at the NCA and NDA Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championships in Daytona, finishing second in the Spirit Rally Intermediate All Girl Division II Finals out of 19 competing programs.

The Javelinas advanced to finals after a third-place finish in prelims out of 13 teams, posting a raw score of 93.0 with no deductions for an event score of 94.0875. TAMUK carried that momentum into the finals, where the Javelinas posted a raw score of 94.7 for a performance score of 94.45 and a final event score of 94.0875, finishing just behind national champion Oklahoma Baptist University for the runner-up title. Lubbock Christian University, who led the field in prelims, rounded out the top three with an event score of 92.6875.

The second-place finish is another strong showing for the Javelinas on the national stage, building on the program's consistent presence among the nation's best in Division II competition.
